Greg Heffley is in the market for a new best friend since he has broken up with his ex best friend Rowley Jefferson. Greg wants to have a best friend before summer is over. After a few weeks of school Gregs parents decided to go to Hawaii for a romantic vacation. Granpa came over to babysit the boys while they where away. There was a Lock -In night at school that Greg had to enter. His dad dropped him off at 8:00. The WORSE thing was that Rowley was there. All the boys wanted to get out by digging a tunel through the ground with spoons but that didin't work. At 1:30am i the morning they saw a man out side and tried to get his attention. At 3:00 in the morning there were angry parents standing outside. apparently the parents were trying to call their children but their children weren't answering because the teacher took away everyone's mobile phones. This book is really funny!
