The Caldecott winning novel, The Invention of Hugo Cabret contains stunning pictures that create a silent movie one frame at a time. The story is of a boy named Hugo Cabret who struggles through life with no existing gaurdian and a haunting history while he lives in the hidden walls of a bustling Paris train station. But when his life confronts with a bitter old man and a girl he realizes they have an interesting connection with his past. With the knowledge he has, he soon devotes his days to figuring out the truth behind a mystery of a dead magician and movie director, that he had recently seen working at a toy booth, that relates to the death of his father.
I love this novel because it shows its magnificent story through many pictures and little words that guide you along the way. Also the different characters somehow blend together with their variety of personalities. And a thrilling mystery hidden behind another.
After reading this, I deeply hope you shall read the amazing book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret!
